A two-time first team All America and the first Most Valuable Player of the ECAC hockey Championship Tournament, Arlie Parker was one of the greatest defensemen in St. Lawrence hockey history.Also an outstanding baseball player and the team’s second leading hitter as a junior, Arlie helped the hockey team to three straight NCAA appearances and its first NCAA championship game appearance. His selection as tournament MVP in the 1962 ECAC championships made him one of only two defensemen selected as MVP in the first 27 years of the tournament. He is one of two SLU defensemen to twice earn All America honors and was a key defensive player on the1960-61 team which finished first in the East and second in the nation.Now a successful businessman, Arlie played on teams which compiled a 47-22-3 record during his career.
