Captain of the 1972-73 basketball team and that sport's career leading rebounder and third leading scorer at the end of his collegiate career, Jim Jenkins helped St. Lawrence to some of the finest seasons in its history during his career.A New York State Sportswriters Association College Division All Star and first-team All East as a senior, Jim finished his career with 1,253 rebounds and 1,128 career points averaging 12.5 points per game and 13.9 rebounds per game for his career. He set single-season and single game records for rebounding and averaged 18.2 rebounds per game as a senior, also a single season record. He also scored 16 points per game his senior year.He was a four-time winner of the ECAC Sophomore of the Week award in his first year of varsity basketball. Jim also played two years each of football and lacrosse while an undergraduate.Now a Physical Therapist and Exercise Physiologist and the owner of Jenkins Health Services, he was a National Institute of Health Postdoctoral researcher in nutrition at Ohio Sate University from 1990-93. He also remains active in athletics as an NCAA Division I college sports official in lacrosse and basketball and is currently officiating in the Big Ten, Atlantic 10, Big XII, Conference USA, Sun Belt and Western Athletic Conference in basketball. He officiated the 1988, 1991 and 1993 lacrosse national championship games.
